Do you ever get that feeling when reviewing for an exam, you feel as if you’ve studied enough and you can’t read another paragraph? So you stop studying thinking you’re all prepared for the exam. Then you go online saying to yourself “Just a 15 minute break”, but you end up surfing the hours away instead? AND THEN when you study your notes again at the last minute you realize there are so many things you haven’t reviewed yet? But still, your brain feels so saturated with terms and shit, that the information just doesn’t register anymore?
Gah. I hate studying for exams. I love learning, just not the exam part.
It doesn’t help that the topics for my Chem exam tomorrow are kind of depressing. Chemical warfare. Nerve, lung-damaging, blood and blister agents. Pollution. London Smog and Photochemical smog. They’re interesting and all, but I’d rather it not be the last thing I think about, nor the words organophosphates or mustard gas, Ypres, chlorine gas be the last words I utter before I sleep.
I remember having to study natural disasters for Geology 1 last semester.  We watched this documentary on earthquakes. It had some footage of the Great Tokyo Earthquake of 1923. Apparently, most of the casualties perished not because of toppling buildings, but of the firestorms ignited by fallen poles, stoves and other flammables. Thirty-thousand survivors were even crammed inside an open space the size of a football field, but that caught fire. Only thirty people survived. THIRTY OUT OF THIRTY-THOUSAND. My chest was so heavy after. Sure, Geology is very interesting, but that subject gave rise to a lot of irrational fears.
Haha, my Science subjects are so upsetting.

Exams are crazy. But im glad that I dont have to put up with that. Although I feel sorry for you because of the fact that you do. Studying for them is like running around with your head just in a blaze sometimes it seems like. Hope you do well on the exams though!
MARIELLI: Thanks! I think I did okay. Haha ;p

Anything discussed about the environment upsets me. Haha, probably because I know I also contribute to the destruction. ![]()

I know what you mean; a short break always turns into a long night of procrastination and fun, haha. I love chem, but that doesn’t mean I’m any good at it ;P Your science classes do sound depressing! It’s nice to be aware of all of these things, but depressing at the same time. *reads your bio* At the risk of sounding racist, my boyfriend is Filipino and I love Filipinos! >_> lol
MARIELLI: HAHAHAHA
That’s so cute.

What has science done? :p
Well I believe everyone experiences that kind of dilemma.

I know what you mean about the whole studying thing. Some people would call it laziness. But for some reason, I learn more when I’m cramming last minute than when I spend an entire night reviewing the lesson.

Thanks for your comment on my site
Oh, sure. The studying thing happens to me all the time. I have to say that it feels horrible. Good luck on your exams, though.

I effing hate chemistry. I liked Biology up to a point (not keen on disections) but was completely lost with chemistry. And I never understood why it was mandatory for people who have no interest going into a science field. I’m a writer. I’ve worked in Cusstomer Service, Human Relations, Journalism, and coming up, Real Estate. I don’t need science. Oh well, good luck on the exmas!

True enough, I dont believe in exams.. it’s just a measure of learning via some scale.
